TixNix Expands Coverage to Florida and Montana

The TixNix team has been hard at work expanding the TixNix network to include additional states. The most recent additions are Florida and Montana.

With the addition of Florida, TixNix now offers representation in almost every southern US state from Florida to California, offering drivers near-seamless coverage in this region. The addition of Montana marks the first northern state to be added to the TixNix network, and the first of many more to come.

"With Florida in the TixNix network, we have completed coverage on one of the nation's busiest routes for interstate trucking," says Steve Ehrenreich, TixNix Co-Founder and CEO. "Our aggressive expansion shows our commitment to helping both private and professional motorists fight moving violations, and we plan even more aggressive expansion in the near future."

Officer Disciplined for Stopping Doctor on Way to Birth
CNN.com - Fort Lauderdale, FL
A police officer who stopped a doctor for speeding on his way to deliver a baby, and then took him to the maternity ward in handcuffs, has agreed to an unpaid suspension for lack of judgment. Dr. Anthony Chidiac was driving his motorcycle 10 miles above the 25 mph speed limit last March when he was stopped by 15-year veteran Officer William Lilliston. According to records released Monday from an internal police investigation, when the doctor explained he was going to a delivery, the officer allegedly asked if he was delivering a pizza and later said, "If you're a doctor, I'm Mickey Mouse or Joe Blow." Opponents Cry "Quota" Over New Houston Police Department Policy
KHOU - Houston, TX
With a rash of officer retirements, and a rise in traffic violations, Police Chief Harold Hurtt says this is the time for all of his officers to be productive. In a preliminary HPD memo obtained by 11 News, it states that officers on the streets must write at least one traffic ticket per day. If not, you could be sent to guard a prisoner at Ben Taub or you might be assigned to work the phones. The department could also take away your ability to work extra jobs or even terminate you. Opponents call it nothing but a quota, a ticket quota in fact. Craig Ferrell is director of HPD's legal services. He says quotas are illegal and HPD will not break the law. Full Article

Woman Gives Birth in Car Before Police Pull Her Over at Gunpoint
CNN.com - Kettering, OH
A woman rushing to a hospital to give birth hit a few stops along the way -- first at a gas station where she delivered the baby herself, then when confused police ordered her out of the car at gunpoint. Debbie Coleman, whose 3- and 4-year-old daughters were asleep in the back seat, pulled over at a gas station just after midnight Tuesday. "I asked if she needed help, and she just leaned back in the seat, hollered a little, and I looked down and there was the baby's head," said station co-owner Lloyd Goff, who was alerted to the emergency at pump No. 7 by a customer.
